Jieun Kim illustration exhibition cards - SERENDIPITY
Oh, I am truly nervous as the date is getting closer everyday!
However, it's been so great to have my full time for drawing and doing something which I love!
Here are some more photos of my invitation postcards.
I drew this illustration specially for the exhibition invitation.
It is all about my life in London, the people, places and my feeling.
London life made myself to want to be an illustrator and draw more!
Before I came to London, I (kind of) gave up being an illustrator
because of the many talented people who make their wonderful works.
I didn't think, couldn't think of my position as an illustrator among the people.
Having said that, It's been dramatically changed since I came to London.
Still long way to go and need to practice a lot.
However, I'm a bit more confident than before and enjoying my work a lot!
It is good, isn't it?
My exhibition is all about how I could find myself and my dream again in this big city - London, of course throughout my works - illustrations!
If you want to share my stories and passion about my illustrations, do come to my exhibition!
It will be serendipitious time for me and you. :)

Let's Fly 2013 - illustration calendar
I'm glad to show my first ever illustration calendar - Let's Fly 2013 (하늘을 나는 2013)
Here are the illustrations about 12 ways how to fly.
Each month show the imaginary way of flying.
---------------------
January - Dumbo (덤보)
February - Angel (천사)
March - Rocket shoes (로켓신발)
April - Balloon (풍선)
May - Dandelions (민들레씨)
June - Blanket (담요)
July - Umbrella (우산)
August - Jonathan Livingston Seagull (갈매기의 꿈: 조나단 리빙스턴)
September - Bicycle (자전거)
October -Helicopter (헬리콥터)
November - Butterflies (나비)
December - Be happy (행복하기)
-----------------------
Which one is your favourite way of flying?
Personally the best way of flying is 'being happy'.
When we are happy, we feel like flying.
Don't we??
Let's flying in 2013.
Let's be happy in 2013.
This is the message of my illustration calendar after all.
You can buy it at Greenwich Market in London.
also don't forget my online store -

The Drawing Hand @ Greenwich Market
I started having my stall at Greenwich Market on 22 August.
It has been about 2 months now.
I'm still very new in the market.
There are so many things to consider and buy for the stall.
I have wanted to post about my Greenwich market stall.
Finally, here we are now. ;)
It's my trial day, 22 August.
I couldn't sleep much because I had to prepare so many things and was very nervous.
However, the day went so great.
I met a few people who kindly liked my illustrations.
Even I made a bit profit~!!! Yeah!
It was Wednesday! For that reason, I strongly believe that Wednesday is my lucky day in the market!
So I'm still going to the market every Wednesday. Ha ha
(If you want see me in the market, come to say hello on Wednesday!)
(If you want see me in the market, come to say hello on Wednesday!)
The market manager told me come again on Friday.
I started to draw something on the papers bags.
I've been trying to draw something can make people smile and feel good.
Hope people can notice my intention.

I became 'The Drawing Hand'
It's been ages since I posted my last post here. It was in June!!!!!!
I feel a bit shame.
So I would like to post more about 2012, before we say good-bye to 2012,
(I'm not totally sure how many posts I would write here, but I will do my best!)
In fact, I have many stories which I would love to share with my a few readers here.
There is nothing big, but so many small but happy stories.
Firstly, I became 'The Drawing Hand'!!
The Drawing Hand is my illustration brand name.
It's a direct, simple and very honest name in order to present my works and myself.
I always say 'I like drawing'.
However, I didn't consider that drawing would be my career.
Finally, I decided to be more brave with something what I really like to do. (Never too late!!)
There were so many thoughts about my brand name.
After the long time of hard consideration, I became 'The Drawing Hand'.
So, this is the first logo design of The Drawing Hand.
I believe that I have 'The Drawing Hand'.
I believe that I use 'The Drawing Hand' to make people smile.
It's the beginning of 'The Drawing Hand'.
I feel a bit shame.

the shooting day for my tote bags
I opend my Etsy (www.etsy.com/shop/theDrawingHand) shop recently.
I had been palnning for long long time! Finally, I started. :)
My very first items on Etsy shop are my hand drawn tote bags.
I wanted to take photos of my bags outdoor but it was raining almost everyday in London.
However, luckily we had a sunny weekend.
Can you see the blue sky?
We had missed it so much. Haha!
Anyhow, it was a really nice time with such a good weather!
My friend, Julie helped me al lot on the day.
Thank you again, Julie!
Here are some photos from the shooting day.
Also, you can see my hand-drawn bags.
Oh, btw, we were in Regent Park!
Enjoy the photos.
